- Rakesh Barve
- I grew up in Chembur, Bombay (now Mumbai), went to OLPS High School, then to IIT Bombay where I got a B'Tech in Computer Science, and then to beautiful Duke University for a PhD in Computer Science. I was a postdoc at Duke for less than a year, then worked at Bell Labs in the US for a couple of years. I relocated to India approximately in 2000 and moved to Bangalore in 2001, worked in a startup which got acquired in 2003, and since late 2004 I am currently engaged in another startup . In course of my career, probably because of my exposure to a combination of computer science research, research labs, high tech startups and then engineering colleges and graduates we have tried to hire, I have become increasingly interested in questions about the quality of computer science/IT engineers and engineers in general that constitute the output of the engineering education system in India.
